Plan and implement a medicinal plant project in Barberton in Mpumalanga. The Traditional Healers were illegally harvesting and destroying medicinal plants in the surrounding nature reserves. This project provided for these traditional healers to propagate and grow their medicinal plants in a controlled environment. Whilst the medicinal plants were being propagated and grown the traditional healers were provided with skills and training to plant cash crops for sale to the retail industry. These sales supplemented their income and provided an opportunity for them to have a sustainable agricultural business.
